First-Step Election
A candidate needs at least 2340 individual votes to be elected as President of Nepali Congress else top 2 leading candidates will fight for President in Today's election. Counting was started at 3 AM mid night (approximately).

Second-Step Election  

After non one get majority number of votes i.e. 2340 votes from first election, re election was conducted today between top 2 candidates viz Dr. Shekhar Koirala and Sher Bahadur Deuba. Candidates with more votes will be elected as the President of Nepali Congress. Election Committee has expected about 4562 voters have involved in the second step election (re-election).
